Marriage Licenses

**The Town of Mamaroneck Town Clerk’s office has switched to a new Online Permitting System. You will be able to apply for Permits, Licenses, Parking Permits, Records and FOIL requests through the following online portal: OpenGov Permits **

You will need to setup an account with our software company, Viewpoint Cloud Permit Software (OpenGov) the first time you log in.  Your account information will be stored to save time when preparing future permit applications. 


Are you getting married? Congratulations! We provide Marriage Licenses and Ceremonies for both residents and non-residents. 

Your first step is a License...Simply call us at 914-381-7870 to make an appointment and we will go over what is required.

General dates/times for appointments**:

Mondays1pm and 2pm
Wednesday11am and 12pm
Friday9am and 10 am

**If you are an essential worker or teacher, and these times do not work for you, please give us a call to discuss a mutually agreeable time for your Marriage License appointment.

Documents you must bring to your appointment:

  • Both parties must have an original or a long form certified copy of their birth certificate. (This is a MUST HAVE.  We cannot provide a marriage license without these.) 
  • A birth certificate that is in a language other than English, requires a certified translation in addition to the original birth certificate. 
  • A government issued photo ID, such as a Driver License or Passport for both parties.
  • Any divorce decrees, or divorce documents, if applicable.

Fees Etc....

There is a $40 fee, payable in cash, or by check or credit card.
Although the license is issued immediately, you must wait 24 hours from time of issuance before getting married. Your Marriage License will be valid anywhere in New York State but will expire in 60 days.
