Comprehensive Plan

The Process

In order to establish a direction for the Town's policy priorities for the coming years, a comprehensive planning process was launched in the spring of 2022. Over this past year, the Town undertook a robust public engagement effort aimed at inventorying the community's most critical needs and specific suggestions for change. The Town's consultants then proceeded to develop a Draft Policy Framework in which the community's expressed needs were used to define the Town's goals, policies, and actions. This multi-tiered framework was presented at an in-person public workshop held on November 30th, 2022 while additional community input was collected through an online webinar and survey. Based on the feedback received on the draft policy framework, the 2023 Draft Comprehensive Plan has been created. This document includes not only an updated version of the policy framework but all the other sections that typically comprise a municipal comprehensive plan including an executive summary, description of the planning process, and summaries of the community needs assessment. A supplement to the Draft Comprehensive Plan provides a record of the community's suggestions for achieving long-term goals with specific changes.

The Town now seeks the community's input on the 2023 Draft Comprehensive Plan. To help residents navigate the plan, a new webinar has been published that provides direction on the aims of the draft plan and offers guidance on the best way to review its contents. We look forward to receiving your comments. Please email them to compplan@TownofMamaroneckNY.org no later than July 1st, 2023. The Town will use these comments to further revise the Draft Comprehensive Plan, redesign its layout in accordance with professional graphic design standards, and ready it for further review under the State Environmental Quality Review Act.
