1. Can I pay a daily walk in fee?

No, a pool membership must be purchased to be admitted into the facility.

2. Do I need a pool membership to participate in programs?

Yes, a membership is required to participate in any pool program.  If purchasing a Basic Individual Membership for a program, no fee is charged at the door when attending the class.

3. Is the pool Handicap accessible?

Yes, we have a lift that can help assist patrons into the water.  The facility also has two easy access ladders (one in each shallow end) with smaller hand rails and angled steps.   

4. Can I bring guests?

Yes,  members can bring two guests per cardholder for an additional fee (Guest fees).  No guest privileges allowed with Basic Individual Membership or the Ten Visit Pass.  

5. Can I bring my own instructor?

No.  All staff/instructors employed by the Town of Mamaroneck Recreation must meet established minimum certification requirements & employment standards.  Therefore, only those individuals properly authorized by the Town may teach at Town operated facilities.  

6. Do you offer private lessons?

We currently are not offering any private lessons.  

7. Why aren't there any daytime pool hours?

The Hommocks pool is owned and operated by the Mamaroneck School District, please see message below.  

A Message from the Mamaroneck Board of Education

The Hommocks pool was built in 1969 by the Mamaroneck School District as a part of the construction of the Hommocks Middle School. The school District is responsible for ongoing maintenance and improvements of the pool. However, understanding that the pool is a valuable asset to all residents of the community, the School district and the Town of Mamaroneck have always had a cooperative arrangement whereby the Town rents the pool in order to make it available for the community. The Town and the School District work closely to minimize any disruptions caused by closures for periodic maintenance or renovations and will continue to try to keep the public informed of the issues relating to the pool.

8. How old must a child be to visit the pool on their own?

A child must be at least 13 years of age or older to enter the facility without a parent/guardian.  

9. Are there any family locker rooms?

Right now we only have gender specific locker rooms. Please speak to the Pool Manager on duty if an accommodation is needed.

10. Can my child use swim aides?

YES, however an adult must be in the water within arms reach of the child.

11. Can I have a party at the pool?

Only during the summer season. Please submit a facility use form to the Recreation Department. 

12. What is the size of the indoor pool?

The indoor pool is 44 yards long x 25 yards wide.  It is 3'6" to 11' deep.
